WHAT IS ARA?
The American Rimfire Association is the sanctioning body for 22lr benchrest competitions with clubs spanning the USA. Both the Unlimited and Factory Class have 20 minutes to shoot a 25 bull target with ONE shot per bull at 50 yards for a maximum score of 2500 plus X count. WHO IS ARA?
ARA includes a group of individuals who enjoy precision and strive to always hit the dot! Competitors ages 7-17 compete in the ARA Junior Division but are also included in Senior Division rankings. Many competitors travel the country shooting at multiple clubs; while others stay at their home club and enjoy their local competition.

We are here to promote camaraderie and competition through 22lr benchrest competition. ARA has a great group of competitors who enjoy the sport and each other. The ARA organization provides training, guidance, and support to all clubs to provide fair and fun competitions that are consistent from club to club.

COST and Match Dates and Times:
Club match fees: this includes ARA fees, targets & club fees
- $ 15.00 for a 2 Card match
- $ 20.00 for a 3 or 4 Card match
- $ 25.00 for a 5 or 6 Card Match
Youth 7 – 17 shoot free always
ARA targets for Factor and Unlimited will be furnished for each match.
Matches will be the 2nd Saturday of each month.. Set up will be at 8:00 am and Match will start at 9:00 am
SCORING:
- Benchrest Scorekeeper software
- Scoring the targets is done by “worst edge” scoring. Each bull is scored as noted on the rubric to the left. Scoring training is provided to scoring team members.
- In addition to a total score, each target is scored for total X’s. An X completely takes out the center dot.
- Use of the official scoring plug is required. The scoring plugs must be purchased from www.KilloughShootingSports.com
GET STARTED: Join the ARA and receive a FREE ARA competitor Number – This will be required to shoot the match at the Old Fort Gun Club and to be able to post your scores.
