Joining the Old Fort Gun Club is a very simple process. Attend one of our Club meetings at Barling City Hall 304 Church St on the first Thursday of the month at 6:30 p.m. Fill out your membership form and then pay the Membership Fee and Initiation fee.

The meeting will start at 7:00 p.m. During the meeting the we will ask you to introduce yourself and tell us a little bit about your shooting interests and why you want to join the club. Then the attending Club members will vote on your membership. After the meeting you will receive the range rules and a temporary membership card.  IF you join during a monthly meeting you will receive your printed card in the mail within 2 weeks, if you mail in your new membership application you will receive your cards withing two weeks following the next monthly meeting.

Members can work off their Range Maintenance Fees for the next year at $10.00 per hour on approved projects.  To watch for range maintenance opportunities, members may check the club calendar,  as well as by providing your e-mail address on your application.

Membership Details

Applicants for regular membership must be a United States citizen, eighteen (18) years of age or older, provide proof of their membership in NRA, be free from any felony criminal conviction, fill out and sign a standard membership application form, pay all currently applicable fees and dues , present themselves in person at a monthly business meeting of the club. The application will be approved or disapproved by a majority of the members present during any regular Club meeting. Upon approval, will be given a temporary membership card to be used until receipt of the official membership card and will be added to the official Club roll.


A. Each member shall pay dues for each year from January 1st to December 31st following, payable on January 1st of each year. Yearly dues are defined on current Membership and renewal forms.

B. A LIFE membership fee is currently in effect for a member to prepay the “normal membership dues” for their lifetime.

C. A prospective member shall pay fees and dues as directed by the Club prior to membership acceptance.

D. An additional Range Maintenance Fee may be levied by the Board of Directors as needs are determined. This fee will apply to all regular members under the age of 65 as a requirement for membership (except 1st year), Life, Charter. However, the fee may be waived in lieu of work done for the Club by the respective member. Such policy will be determined by the Board of Directors and duly recorded in the official minutes.

E. No person shall be in good standing or be qualified to exercise or be entitled to receive any privilege of membership who is in default of the payment of the annual dues for one month.

Associate Membership will be extended to the immediate family of the regular member, immediate family being defined as the spouse and all single children through age 20 living in the member’s home or away attending school. Associate members have all the rights of a regular member except the right to vote on official Club business. At age 21, individual membership is required.
